We take client confidentiality very seriously and so hope that future clients understand that we cannot provide examples of past projects, even versions which have been anonimised.

Case Studies

Whilst we cannot disclose project details, here are a few case studies which Eclipse has worked on.

Case Study 1, "Consumer Electronics Trade Show"

Eclipse was engaged by a major consumer electronics retailer to attend the IFA trade show in Berlin, a trade fair which specialises in consumer electronics.
The client's business imperative was to understand the digital activties of a competitor in greater detail. In particular, our research focused on identifying the company's strategic plan for the European market, design and production strategies and marketing tactics. This information was gleaned through a combination of primary research, (face-to-face interviews with stakeholders at the trade show) and also desk research. The outputs of the research allowed a better informed strategic and tactical response on behalf of the client.

Case Study 2, "Bid support for public-sector contract"

Eclipse assisted a consortium of UK based companies to win a public sector contract. By observing stringent ethical guidelines, (as set out by www.scip.org), Eclipse was able to speak with a large number of stakeholders involved in both of sides of the bid and plot the possible actions of the competing consortium. This resulted in the successful outcome of the client winning the bid.

Case Study 3, "E-learning study"

Eclipse was approached by an e-learning company to assess attitudes to e-learning amongst the target market of HR Managers and Directors. We identified a large, national HR event and interviewed a wide range of potential buyers. During this process we identified the underlaying cultural attitudes towards e-learning and how this resistance could be overcome. A key output was the formulation of the business case for e-learning, (i.e. value as defined by potential clients) and which companies might be likely sales targets.

Case Study 4 , "Multi-media app benchmarking"

A consumer company with plans to develop an innovative multi-media player approached Eclipse to conduct a benchmarking study. Our challenge was to produce a point of view on what technology already existed, (with some over 600 solutions already on the market), OS compatibility, features and points of view in the Open Source community. Based on these results, the client was able to produce a software solution which was currently not on the market and provide a basis for the design of its future software solution.
